The five rupee conundrum

The latest dilemma to grip the throes of the casual shopper is the ever elusive and fading 5 rupee note/coin. Hang on to your change for dear life cause that is more valuable than a brick of gold! If you happen to be one of the unfortunate ones and go to a shop seeking this effervescent denomination you are in for a bagful of surprises. You efforts will be rewarded with anything but that 5 rupee note. Be ready for a host of different candies and toffees, some of which you have never heard of and neither want to eat! You will also be asked to buy some locally made piece of soap or small satchet of shampoo, which again has no real utility for you.......

The basic idea is to palm off all unsaleable stuff to the most gullible customers. That is not to say that we are gullible but only that we cannot walk away from that store without accounting for those 5 rupees!! So maybe its time to put our foot down and not to succumb to these gimmicks and ploys by the local grocers' mafia!!!!
